In order to use the Oracle data client you're going to have to install the Oracle client software. There is no way around that as it relies on the native OCI functionality. The system provider is actually obsoleted IIRC. Cause

The full error message is as follows:

The Oracle client and networking components were not found. These components are supplied by Oracle Corporation and are part of the Oracle Version 7.3(or greater) client software installation.
You will be unable to use this driver until these components have been installed


ODBC Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on
SQL_HANDLE_ENV Failed - Unable to connect to the database.

A common cause for these errors is that the Oracle Ora92bin directory is not set in the Microsoft® Windows® PATH environment variable.

This can been seen in a Windows 32 bit enviornment and 64 bit windows environments

Resolving The Problem

To resolve this issue add the full path to <Full Path>Ora92bin directory into the Windows PATH variable.
By default the full path to the Ora92bin directory is C:OracleOra92bin
