This is a great device and really pretty easy to use once you get it set up and play with a few test recordings to 'tweak' the settings. Only problem was that after installing the included software/drivers I had no sound from my speakers. That's because when the new 'sound device' (the DVD Maker) was 'installed' in Windows XP, it became the Default sound device. Once I went into the Conterol Panel and figured out what had happened, it was easy enough to chose my sound card as the 'Default' AUDIO device and everything worked fine. Makes DVD recordings at least s good as the VCR tapes appeared on my High Def Sony TV.Also note that the instructions that come with it are a little skimpy, so please note that in addition to plugging the recorder into your USB port, you'll also need to plug the second 'output' cable into the 'Line Input' of your sound card in order to get sound from the VCR, Camera, etc. This may be obvious to some folks, but not to others.
All considered, well worth the price for me!
